The Lunch Room

I leaned forward casually, resting my hands on the table. "Ohh... Not much. Go hiking, breath in water everyday, run away to sunshine. All that good stuff." I said, but I really shouldn't have suggested hiking.

I remained silent for most of this. I wasn't really a social person.

Alex grinned when Maria mentioned hiking. She and Skyler loved to do anything outdoors, even though they didn't look like they would even touch dirt let alone take week long trips into any kind of terrain, loving the adventure. She pushed Skyler lightly, smiling. "Hear that Sky? People actually go hiking in this place. Maybe we could get a group together or something?"

Skyler smiled brightly at that. "That would be great, once we make more friends we can do a group camp out." Skyler said. Skyler glanced over at the girl next to Maria. She had been quiet the whole time the twins had come over. She smiled at the girl and introduced herself. "Hi i'm Skyler." she said.

"I've got plenty of friends." I told Skylar and Alex. "I could help get a group together. I also love hiking. A girls gotta do something in a small town like this." I waved my hand around the lunchroom, taking it all in.

'That would be great." Skyler smiled. "Now we'll only have to ask our dad and then set up a date." she said. "It's great to see another girl who likes hiking like we do."

I grinned. "Same here. Got to keep in shape." I said, smirking slightly. "But, a bit of a warning, never go near places were you see animal tracks from large animals. I learned my lesson."

"I'm Sene," I answered Skyler. That was what most people called me, unless I didn't like them. Then I took that privelege away and they had to call me by my full name.

"AHA!" I exclaimed, finally remembering the girl. "Sene! Its me, Maria!" I told her excitedly.

I smiled slightly, finally connecting Maria's face with a name, and I remembered everything. "I remember you now!"

"Funny how a name can ring such a bit bell." I laughed as I talked.

"Yeah. I remember everything now. That would be me, attach everything to a name, the one thing out of everything I'm most likely to forget." I scowled.

I grinned at her. "Your name isnt that hard to forget." I laughed again. It was true, she had the longest first name ever.

I shrugged. "I wonder sometimes if my mom named me that so I would have a chance of at least remembering my own name."

"Well, my name is pretty easy." I said. "And, maybe that's what your mom did." I continued, raising an eye brow.

Then I thought of my 5th cousin, whose name was still undecided. His mother was Greek and his father was Sumerian. His mom wanted to name him Menoeceus, but his dad wanted to call him Bob, so as not to give him a complex when he was older. Menoeceus is 9 letters long. Senecretsia is 12. Ok, yep. My name is the longest in the world.

"Senecretsia?" I called to Sene when it looked like she was started to visit la-la-land again.

"Yeah, I'm here," I said, waving my hand around. "I was comparing my name to some of my cousins' names. Some of them have some long freaking names."

"You have a long freaking name." I said, lightly hitting her in the arm.

I walked back into the cafeteria after trying to find Lyra, trying being the operative word. She had started running and I decided it was best if I just let her be. I saw Maria and the other vampire in an animated conversation also funnily enough the two human twins were sitting there with them. I approached them a bit warily.

I smiled a bit sheepishly, then looked up as someone else approached.

"I decided it was better to let her go." I told Maria, "She will come back." I didn't sit down not knowing if I was entirely welcome.

Skyler smiled at Sene. "I like your name and don't worry a lot of people have long names." she said smiling. Skyler looked behind me when Sene looked at something behind us. She seen the boy who had left earlier after his sister, he was behind us. "Hello." Skyler said kindly. She looked at his eyes, now that she could see them better.

I blinked. Vampires and humans at the same table, who would-a thunk it. "Listen, I am sorry that I made her mad. Its just that-" I glanced at the two humans, then lowered my voice. "We can't have anyone... dissapering here."

"Don't worry about she has a... fiery temper but she'll cool off. I'm sure she'll see the logic." I wasn't entirely truthful my sister was one to hold a grudge but I hoped this tim she would be able to let it go. Sitting down I saw one of the twins looking at my eyes I glanced away quickly having golden eyes would be a plus.
