Music Class

I walked to in the Music Room and was amazed by the size of it. It was pretty big.

Hm. I thought. Seems like Kaleigh and I have the same classes at the same time. Cool. I kept walking and sat down at the edge of the top bleacher by the door.

I walked over to a small shelf that had instrument cases on them. One of them was in the shape of either a violin or a viola case. I ran my fingers over the top of the case.

"Kaleigh, toss me some drums." I said, nodding toward the bongo's, my regular instrument that I was assigned to.

I jumped slightly hearing a voice call my name. I turned to see Maria in the room as well. "Ok." I grabbed some of the shelf and gave them to her, before returning to the case I was staring at before. I opened it gently. Inside was a viola, I could tell from just looking at it.

I fingered a piece of thread that was on my jeans as I stared at the bongos. I wanted for some more people to walk it. Why was I always first in the class room?

I picked up the viola and bow, looking around for a shoulder rest, which I found pretty quickly. Then I put the shoulder on the viola and tightened the bow. Then I pushed some of my red hair (that's there so I don't forget what color I made it...XD) off my shoulder and positioned the instrument there. Slowly, I pulled the bow across the strings, checking the tuning. Then, since there was no one but Maria around and I didn't feel all that nervous about playing I began to softly play.

I smiled slightly at Kaleighs playing. She started yo build up, the music comeing faster.

My fingers dance over the strings as I play, emersing myself into the music.

I started to hit the pads on the bongos, the beat matching the tune that Kaleigh was playing.

Very soon, more student came in, all stopping by the door, staring. When both I and Maria stopped, applause filled the room. My eyes widened, but no one could see them from behind the goggles, so I wasn't too worried.

I grinned at Kaleigh. I flipped my hair over my shoulder, flashing the awe-struck humans another smile.

I could hear them talking amongst themselves, the room volume raising to a dull roar. I could make out some of their comments.
-"Is that the new girl?"
-"What is she wearing?"
-"What gives her the right to show off like that?"

Oh no, it was starting again.

"Yes, thats the new girl, yes her name is Kaleigh. Her goggles rule, and she has every right to show her talent." I said, standing up and crossing my arms, staring at the class.

I smiled to myself, hearing Maria stick up for me. If only I could do that for myself. "Thanks," I said, nearly inaudible to my own ears.

I didn't answer her, knowing she would know I would here her feather quiet voice.

I put the viola back in the case, just as the teacher walked in.

I sat back down, pulling the bongos back in my lap. I glanced over, discovering Collin beside me. Oh.My.Gosh. I thought, screaming happyily inside my head.

I sat in the corner where there were the least number of people, yet again. My fingers tangled in my hair, twisting and pulling nervously. I hoped that this wasn't all types of music, like singing and stuff...I didn't need more attention than I already had.

"Nice job in sticking up for Kaleigh." Collin said to me. I pulled my excitement back in, grinning my best smile at him.
"Thanks. I wan't her to have some friends. She is new here." I told him.

"That's really nice of you," Collin said back to her.

"Well, I am just a nice person." I said, smiling wider. "I don't think we have actually met yet. I'm Maria."

"Collin," he replied, "but I'm gonna guess you know that already, based on the fact that you stare at me a lot."

My eyes widened at his remark. Then, they narrowed. "You seem to stare alot at me to." I snapped.

"The fact that I stared at you, could mean I think you're pretty," Collin nearly snapped back. "Think before you get all hostile."

(-cringe- that was weird)
